Here we go, welcome to issue number #4 ๐Ÿš€
As you could have noticed, this week the issue has been sent from a different email address, from now on it will become the official email address, letโ€™s mark it as โ€œNot spamโ€ โœจ
Thanks to Cloudflareโ€™s email routing functionality I was able to create an alias with just a bunch of clicks so you can always recognise these emails just by looking at the address ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ #andNotMarkItAsSpam

Security and Open Source
I wanted to dig deeper into this topic and how the Open Source Security Foundation works. I discovered that the OpenSSF with the Linux Foundation had created some free courses about Secure Software Development.
I took the โ€œSecure Software Development: Requirements, Design, and Reuseโ€ course that covered these exciting topics:
  • Security basics
  • Secure design principles
  • Supply chain evaluation
I really recommend it, especially if you are already in the software development field and want to improve your security skills.
Iโ€™m planning to write something about secure design principles so stay tuned ๐Ÿ“ก

Distributed Systems
A few months ago, I caught a pleasant conversation on Twitter about Distributed Tracing Systems, so I decided to write something about it.
Following the originalย Google Dapper Whitepaper, I tried to summarise with a few examples and use-cases how it works. Nowadays, itโ€™s critical to trace our distributed systems down and having clear in mind how to do so is key..

Call for papers and conferences
Do you like conferences? Perhaps are you a speaker? Do you have a hard time finding the right conference to attend or speak?
Today is your lucky day. I found a lovely Event Directory to find a list of CFP/Conferences.
You can add the events you are interested in on your calendar, submit your paper and so on. Very handy ๐Ÿ—บ - Event Directory
See ya ๐Ÿ”ญ
Thanks for reading and see you on the next issue โ˜„๏ธ
