In VMware Tanzu Labs, we often work in Balanced Teams, working with product managers, product designers, and other engineers.

We constantly communicate and collaborate, focusing on delivering customer value through working software in minor, iterative releases, adapting standard tools and practices to what works best for all members.

This practice brings many benefits, from cross-domain empowerment to autonomy in making decisions that potentially could block the delivery.

I usually refer to myself as an Extreme Programmer, and I wanted to introduce what XP is about on this issue.

I’ve been an XP practitioner for a while so far, and I can say that this is the best way to do my job.

Often, especially outside the XP world, I hear the word “resource” being used for people.

Whenever I can, I always try to explain why we should stop calling people resources, and this article by Emily Webber helped me to do so a bunch of times.
